This movie comes off as a really twisted version of SPIDERMAN, with a security guard who is bitten by an experimental spider and obtains its powers. At first he gets superhuman strength and is able to stop the neighborhood bullies--but from there things take a decidedly wrong turn. One morning he wakes up suspended from his ceiling by a web that is coming from his abdomen. He's actually able to shoot it from a hole in his stomach. Then, he can't seem to get enough food....and other body changes start to happen. Basically replace Cronenberg's THE FLY with a SPIDER and you have it.
