Two young brothers are left with their father (Joel Kinnamen of ROBOCOP, SUICIDE SQUAD) for a long weekend. At first this seems okay. The father seems anxious because it's been a while since he's seen them and the kids seem bored. He takes them far out into the woods, near a logging camp where he works, to go camping. Their truck gets stuck after he tries to teach the eldest son how to drive and takes them on a journey deeper into the wilderness. This is one of those movies where the main character unravels more and more as it progresses, because of his mental illness, which makes it all a harrowing experience. EDGE OF WINTER is a great character study. It's not a fun movie to watch but it's entirely plausible and will keep you on the edge of your seat. Recommended.
