Geneticist Jeff Burton (Michael Eklund of The Call) is a very morose, monotone scientist. This may have to do something with him being recently divorced and the death of his baby son, who had a weird tumor disease he couldn't cure. For a new start he moves to Dresden, Germany, and is reunited with a woman he used to work with. They are developing a regenerative gene in humans, like when a lizard re-grows its tail. But things get out of hand, especially when he develops that same disease his son and begins to resemble The Elephant Man. On one hand I can see that the filmmakers were going for something like SPLICE, but it's extremely low-budget and none of the characters are likable or have any energy. It makes watching this film a drag. Not recommended.
