Actually, old ideas never die-they just get recycled. This time around it's the Frankenstein scenario, used in a made-for-cable movie. A detective (Thomas Gibson), still recuperating from his wife's murder by a serial killer five years previous, finally witnesses the psycho's execution by lethal injection. It doesn't make him feel much better, though. His attitude is so bad around the precinct that they reassign him as a glorified security guard to the nearby college campus. Here, a scientist is working on an experiment with nanotechnology to bring back dead tissue-and the corpse he and his female assistant bring back to life is that of the serial killer. Well, the killer escapes, strangles the scientist and a few other people-and even kidnaps the woman assistant, who the detective has developed feelings for. So now the detective is REALLY mad. The movie was decent enough until the last fifteen minutes-when there's one of the dumbest twist endings I've seen, which is supposed to explain why the doctor was using the serial killer's body to begin with. Well, a message to the four scriptwriters it took to come up with it-it didn't work!
