Seven volunteers are getting paid to try a new drug called Pro-0. The facility this is being tested at is in a remote facility, far from any town. It's just these guinea pigs and a few doctors. They are warned that once the drug is administered they'll be kept under observation for two weeks and not be able to have contact with the outside world. They also shouldn't exercise or exert themselves as it may increase the effects of the drug. What are the effects? Well, it begins changing them into red-skinned maniacs, some with swollen heads and faces. The first to transform is an athlete, who goes against advice and exercises. Then it begins happening to the others, one by one...
Although it's basically a disguised zombie movie (with crazy patients replacing the undead), this is an effective horror film and successfully creates a feeling of dread. This is not a pleasant film. Recommended if you love your horror dead serious.
