Casper Van Dien is an archeologist who uncovers the body of a giant, forty-foot mummy deep in the Nevada desert. This is the body of one of the ancient giants, the cross between a fallen angel and a human (I guess it's born normal size, then becomes giant as it ages-or else that would REALLY hurt). In a flashback we see one of these Fallen Angels, a sinister looking Middle-Eastern guy, having his son mummified. He speaks of a day when they will awaken, which would be our present day.The Fallen Angel's followers still exist and raid the archeologist camp. The mummy disappears, as if it walked away, and is hidden deep in this series of tunnels beneath the desert. There's also this stereotypical story of a woman archeologist being the re-incarnation of the Fallen Angel's human wife-and, of course, the evil guy wants her back. The giant mummy effects are decent enough, though I thought is humorous every time the evil cult shows up wearing their purple outfits. I think the movie would be much better if it simply dealt with this reanimated giant mummy than this pseudo-biblical babble.
