Set in the future, in a world where people receive memory implants as children, Robin Williams plays Hakman, a cutter with the power of final edit over people's recorded histories. His job is to take the memory footage after someone dies and edit it into a 'Rememory' for the family of the person. On his latest assignment, he finds information about his own life that puts him in danger... namely that he was fitted with an implant that cutters are not supposed to have. As you can imagine, there are people in the world that are against the implants and they have devised ways to jam the signal. There are also people out there who are after the footage from his latest project because it has implications in the business world if certain info contained therein were to get out. After the footage is destroyed... the only way left to access the info is through Hakman's memories. This was another weird film, but very well done. Robin Williams has become one of my favorite actors and he did not disappoint in this one. A great sci-fi flick that will leave you thinking and maybe feeling uncomfortable about what you do when you are alone. A great rental or purchase!
