An intriguing science-fiction movie that takes place in the future world of the 1980's. Impressive special effects, particularly with the spaceship and how the planet Venus is depicted. It reminded me of the planet in ALIENS.Earth uncovers an alien message from a meteor site and scientists decode it to find out that it is an order to invade the Earth. Earth sends one of their crews to Venus to try and stop them-but when they get there the planet seems deserted. One astronaut falls into a hole in the ground and encounters these weird metallic insects, which are really storage devices for the Venusians. Before they could invade Earth they killed off themselves in an atomic war. Which, I guess, is supposed to be taken as a warning for earthlings.
