This adaptation of the James Patterson (KISS THE GIRLS) novel is a snoozer.A serial killer is targetting newlyweds on their wedding night, killing them with knives, guns and even arrows. It's up to a police detective (Tracy Pollan) to find out who the real killer is. All clues lead to a wife-beating best-selling author (Robert Patrick). In fact, all the murders mimic those of his first unpublished novel, a revelation that turns up halfway through the flick. But he insists he didn't do any of the killings, that he's not a murderer. First, this movie is WAY too long at 168 minutes, even if it was originally a two-part made for cable movie, and the story is convoluted. The lead detective also happens to be dating the captain she's partnered up with and she later finds out that she has a potentially fatal blood disease. Give me a break. Also, Tracy Pollan has absolutely no stage presence, making the movie horribly miscast. And speaking of the actors, it's like a reunion created by Chris Carter-in addition to Robert Patrick, there's Pitch Pileggi (X-FILES) as a policeman and Megan Gallagher (MILLENIUM) as one of the detective's friends.I suppose if you like LIFETIME movies you'll enjoy this.
