Frostbiter is pretty much an Evil Dead rip-off. I guess if you are gonna borrow from a film, might as well be a good one. That being said, this is still a pretty good flick. It has lots of cool, violent scenes such as a guy getting his hand eaten off by a pot of possessed chili. You get a lot of little evil creatures running around causing havoc as well. A few demonic chicks show up for the ride and even a couple of breasts get bared for your viewing pleasure. Of course, that lovely happens to turn into a hag and gets a pitchfork necklace, but hey she tried. The wendigo itself was kinda cool in a stop motion sorta way. Never understood why it didn't just knock the whole damn cabin over since it was way larger than anything else on the screen during its time. Wendigos must be pretty damn stupid I guess. Anyway, there's a lot of action, funny scenes, and blood to keep you happy. I liked the stop motion FX even though a bit cheesy and cheap looking. My only real complaint here was in the originality department since the evil entities attacking cabin in the woods routine has been done, and oh so much better. Still Frostbiter stands on its own (sorta) and seemed kinda like an homage to Evil Deads' spirit. There's worse out there, far worse.
