It's 1983. A group of high school jocks are celebrating on a road near the Hollywood sign. Strangely, it all looks at is they've been plucked from the 1950's. A nerd, Sam, shows up and it turns out he has a crush on Jenny, who is the girlfriend of the head meathead. Sam and Jenny end up at a strange amusement park and quickly discover it's inhabited by some even stranger creatures, from slug-like entities to a spider woman to a satanic skeleton-like being. Everything is extremely surreal, with the special effets and monsters on the level of a GHOULIES movie, which makes it seem very much like an odd indie 80's horror movie. Although the movie has the voice talents of Tim Curry (Stephen King's IT), Brad Dourif, Sean Young and Lance Henriksen they are all sort of wasted. GINGERCLOWN is visually interesting but that's about it.
