After the death of his mother from cancer, a ten-year-old boy named Mark Evans (Elijah Wood of Lord of the Rings) goes to temporarily live with his Aunt and Uncle while his father is on a business trip in Japan. It's bad for him that their son, Henry (Macaulay Culkin), is a psycho. He threatens to let his cousin go when he slips on the treehouse, kills a dog, almost drowns his sister and even goes after his own mother (Wendy Crewson of The 6th Day, ReGenesis). This is a rather low-key movie but Culkin gives an unsettling performance that's worth checking out. I also liked it that they never explained why this kid is so screwed up, that he was just born this way.
