I'm not a big fan of the Goth scene so I was a bit reluctant to watch this DVD, considering I wasn't all that hyped about Brain Damage's HOLLYWOOD VAMPYR. But GOTH turns out to be a damn good horror movie, a roller-coaster ride of dark desires, revenge and death. In the opening scene a young woman, covered in blood, awakens to find herself surrounded by dead bodies. Before we can figure out what's going on we cut to 'Eight hours earlier', to see how she came to this predicament.Chrissy and her boyfriend Boone are at a concert when they meet GOTH, a crazy and unpredictable woman who seems to be the embodiment of 'what it is to be Goth'. After giving the couple a taste of a new drug called White Death she talks them into going on a ride with her in her van-and that's when the trouble begins. She stops and picks up a random guy-and forces him, with a knife to his throat, to have sex with her while the two others watch. They try to leave but she wont let them and continues to do crazy, violent things. From the first five minutes until the closing credits I was hooked on this movie. Phoebe Dollar (HELLS'S HIGHWAY) is great as the evil GOTH, attractive and repulsive at the same time. The story reminded me of THE HITCHER, where C. Thomas Howell was corrupted by Rutger Hauer, or NOMADS, where Pierce Brosnan was overtaken by the evil he witnessed. By the end of the movie the characters become what they were trying to run away from. GOTH is highly recommended. Directed by Brad Sykes (DEATH FACTORY).
