After pulling off another job with his rag-tag group of allies, Peter Quill, aka Star Lord, gets a visit by his long lost father, Ego (Kurt Russell). Ego takes them back to his private planet, which turns out to actually "be" him. The human like body he converses in is just an avatar-and avatar, which Quill eventually finds out, had spawned hundreds of other offspring with different species. You see, Ego wants someone to share his power with and has little regard for all the lesser beings.
The movie continues to develop some of the side characters, particularly Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Quill's foster father, Yondu (Michael Rooker), who turns out to be a good guy after all. While I didn't find this quite as entertaining as the first movie it is a great continuation of the story and expands some of the characters. And how can you go wrong with having a Baby Groot? Highly recommended.
