A young woman (Jaimie Alexander of THE OTHER SIDE) gets stranded in a small rural town after her car breaks down. The town, though, is the home of a cult, founded by a crazy preacher who died a hundred years ago. In fact, the townspeople believe that she's the chosen one in which their founder will be reborn.
First, he inhabits and reanimates a creepy looking scarecrow, then is able to body hop to some recent corpses. The towns current preacher (Ethan Phillips of STAR TREK VOYAGER) wants to impregnate her but she kills him. Then, when the undead cult leader realizes she isn't a virgin he tells the townspeople to kill her.
This is an above average killer scarecrow movie, sort of a cross between CHILDREN OF THE CORN.
