Part Five makes for a fun, silly film. Picking up a little after four, Jamie now has a sorta psychic link with her uncle and knows when he's being bad or good, so be good for goodness sake. The hot new friend Tina is oh so doable and proof that blondes aren't the only airheads. Myers slaughters more kids like every Halloween and the kills here are pretty gruesome. The utter downfall here is the ending and then what would come in part six, but for the most part five is fun as a slasher film gets. Four, five, and six all make up the alternate reality of the Halloween film series. We'll never know what was going with that shit, but anyway, this movie has a slick as hell editing job. Loomis has fuckin' lost it by now. I loved the opening credits pumpkin-carving scene. Myers looks 100% better in this film than in four, but there's still no real atmosphere or chills here. Guess that's what watching the first film is for, right?
