Is it just me or does each movie in this series gets increasingly boring? As usual, this is an amalgamation of too many ideas I've already seen or read, so my first time viewing it is like a rerun. The third term of magic school is beginning and Potter is in trouble for using his magic to make his nasty Aunt float away like a human balloon. He's punished and is limited with what he can do around campus (for example, he can't go into the magical town nearby). The coolest thing he encounters in the film is the Hippogriff, a creature half eagle and half horse with wings. The werewolf character isn't bad, he's just shown way too long, making me think of Wyle E. Coyote from the Bugs Bunny cartoons. There's narrow escapes, the usual school rivals, and a'twist' ending. I don't know what they're going to do with casting the next movie-all the kids look several years too old for the age they are supposed to be portraying.
