I didn't have high hopes for this movie and I wasn't disappointed. It is just another lame, tame Hollywood movie with a thin plot and a lot needless computer effects. The Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite experiences at Disney World as a kid and the movie did not capture the feel of that ride whatsoever. What we get is Eddie Murphy and his two kids trying to save their mother from a ghost who wants to marry her, believing her to be his reincarnated lost love. The 'curse' keeps all the ghosts from going on to the next world yet the exact nature of the curse is never explained. If it's due to the lord of the manor then why are there hundreds of spirits trapped in the nearby graveyard? It's silly.Simply a time waster.
