Finally! Rob Zombie's much anticipated leap into the realm of animated sleaze is now available for all to see and what a treat it was. I'm not sure exactly WHAT I was expecting from this but let's just say I got more! El Superbeasto is a former wrestler, turned porno star, ultra-ego A-list celebrity douche bag who falls in love with a sassy stripper, Velvet Von Black who is kidnapped by Dr. Satan who wishes to make her his bride. Meanwhile, Superbeasto's bombshell sister, Suzi X and her horny robot side-kick, are battling an army of zombie Nazis! "El Superbeasto" sat on the shelf for about three or four years while Zombie did "The Devil's Rejects" and "Halloween", sort of becoming an off-and-on project that taunted us with faux-release dates and other hang-ups until finally, I can say it was worth the wait! What's not to like here? Tons of cartoon nudity, violence, gore, talking apes, hilarious songs, undead Nazis, big-balled critters and Satan getting walked in on beating his meat! The voice-over acting is amazing and includes just about everyone Rob Zombie has ever used on-screen in the past, like Ken Foree, Geoffrey Lewis, Danny Trejo, Sheri Moon, Brian Posehn, Bill Moseley, Sig Haig, and a few "noobs" like Rosario Dawson and Paul Giamatti! The animation is nice and traditional 2-D hand-drawn, comic book style stuff and the writing and humor is rock solid! Kind of disappointed this didn't get a wide theatrical release, but what can you do? Adult animation isn't as socially accepted like it used to be. I've been hearing folks comparing this to "Fritz the Cat"... Fuck that! "Fritz the Cat" is garbage! "El Superbeasto", I can guarantee, will become the next great cult-cartoon for generations to come... Let's just hope we see some sequels.
