Begins with two old guys breaking into a closed gold mine that's believed to be haunted. Instead of finding gold they unleash a horrendous looking creature that tears them apart. It looks like a bunch of rotted corpses that melded together into a Frankenstein-like creature, with a huge mouth where its torso is. It escapes and begins killing people, among them characters portrayed by Jennifer Rubin (Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors) and Marion Ross (Happy Days, The Lake). The main character is a young deputy who is now caring for his teenaged sister because their parents died. We eventually learn that the monster was created by a witch, who was the wife of one of the Chinese miners who perished in the early 1800's, when the mine was open. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie, primarily because it's a bit different and has a unique creature.
