This first HELLBOY animated movie ties in with the Guillermo Del Toro movie in that it features the voices of actors Ron Perlman and Selma Blair. The Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense sends Hellboy and Liz Sherman to investigate the disappearance of a Japanese folklore professor who has become possessed by legendary spirits. During the adventure Hellboy finds himself in what appears to be another dimension/time period and Sherman and the amphibious Abe Sapien battle monsters in the real world. Although this wasn't a horrible movie I found it lacking the energy and entertainment of the live-action flick - and rather forgettable.
