This a very long(winded) version of the Hercules tale, which seems to go out of its way to be as different as possible from the Sam Raimi produced series that starred Kevin Sorbo (Andromeda). Even the creatures he encounters while performing his various labors are changed-the Stymphalian birds aren't birds, but Harpies, the Nemean Lion is a man-sized Sphinx, and the Cretan Bull not a bull, but a man (who may really be Herc's father, not Zeus). You get the idea. The computer generated special effects fall a bit short, particularly when depicting the running Centaur and even the Hydra. The depiction of Hades is also a disappointment. The biggest problem, however, is that we get bored of Hercules very early on in the movie, which is not a good thing. It was a labor to watch!
