If you have ever seen the Brimstone Productions film, Creaturealm:From The Dead, then chances are the Hollywood Mortuary short directed by Ron Ford has stuck in your mind. He has now expanded the short into a full-length feature of the same name with lots of new footage and some wild and weird editing to boot. The story follows an out-of-work 1940's make-up man and self-proclaimed genius who has turned to voodoo and has resurrected two famous horror stars. And what voodoo ritual is complete without a half-naked lady dancing with a snake? His attempt at a comeback is short lived and does not go over well with his cohorts. The film is very well written and has lots of great sarcasm and wit, and comes to life at full-length. Its old-timey feel and dark comedy ranks this high in the Indy horror genre, very much worth watching.
