This decent Amicus flick stars both Chris Lee and Peter Cushing (which personally have never used, you?) and makes for a cool little film. The movie was actually based on Robert Bloch's story 'The Skull of the Marquis De Sade' and that's what the skull here is, causing all sorts of mischief and evil. Cushing is a collector of occult items and ends up getting his hands on this weirdo skull that is still possessed by the spirit of the Marquis De Sade to which it was formerly attached. Murders and other ghastly events soon follow after he buys the damn thing, as many fall under the spell of the skull. The cool skull cam view you see during some of the attacks makes for some fun family entertainment as do most of the films other possession scenes. This isn't my favorite Amicus flick, but it beats the hell out of most British horror crap with a bat, I think a few more viewings would move it up my list (whatever list that is). A good story presented here by some true horror legends that anyone should enjoy. You can probably catch this on AMC late one night if you're lucky.
