Say goodbye to the days of Lou Ferrigno, though he and Stan Lee have a cameo, Hulk is now looking huge and destructive the way it should be thanks to pc generated FX technology. Ang Lee has made a pretty stylish, dramatic movie out of the comic book character here folks and it's way more adult sci-fi drama than kiddy cartoonish. It takes awhile for the green goliath to be unleashed, but once Hulk is loose the real fun begins. Jennifer Connelly is looking good in this thing, about as good Nick Nolte looks bad. They must have cast Nick from his last DWI mug shot because he's looking like he just leaped of the screen of bumfights.com or something. He does do a good role though. Hulk is a great movie, but for comic fans there are many shortfalls. I can't say I liked the origin here that much with the Daddy shit (I guess I missed those issues), but overall I could stand it. The ending could have been better also. It would have been nice to see some of Hulk's villains, like the Abomination or the Leader, but you can't have it all I suppose. The PIP shots did give you that comic book panel feel at times, so Lee didn't totally forget the origins of the monster I guess. The music and the slow-mo John Woo aped stuff was a nice touch. The romantic stuff will keep your woman from falling asleep halfway through it. Hulk and DareDevil have been Marvel's two best movies to me. Spider-Man was a little too cute and the X-Men flicks are just too hit or miss in my opinion. It all adds up to this: Hulk Smash!
