In the near future all the power goes off across the United States. A father and his two adult daughters live in the woods in the Pacific Northwest, miles away from the nearest small town. For the first week they are fine-but when they go in town to the store, everything is gone and there's no gas. They hole up in their house as the weeks go by, living on canned goods and eggs from their chickens. Then, while cutting down a tree the father has an accident, cuts his leg and dies from blood loss. The two sisters carry. Months go by. The roof of the house begins to leak, wild pigs eat the chickens and they have to learn how to find food growing wild in the forest, which they are able to do.
This is a decent enough end of the world movie, along the lines of GOODBYE, WORLD, if you don't mind some dumb instances, like 1) why haven't they been fishing? 2) Why would one of the sister's personalities completely change and she'd want to keep a rape baby? and 3) why burn down their house if they are leaving it anyways to go live elsewhere? I can't completely recommend this one...
