This made for television movie is suppossed to be a sequel to the 67/68 Television series starring Roy Thinnes. But the producers really mess this one up--it has very litte in common with that original series. In the original, the aliens assume human form and have to be 'regenerated' in order to maintain their disguise. Here, they impersonate people who already exist, taking on their form (a la INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS). There's also no regeneration. Also, when they died in the original series they burned up in a flash of red--here they just disappear in a blinding light. They also mind control humans through implants, something that has been done to death since the 60's. In the series the aliens were almost ready to take over the earth--so how are they still doing the same thing after thirty years? Roy Thinnes, star of the original series, makes an all too brief appearance, mostly to explain what is going on (they are terraforming earth, et cetera). A very lame invasion.
