This is one of the better comic book to movie adaptations, far better than the animated feature that was released last year. Surprisingly, Robert Downey Jr. does justice to the role of Tony Stark, the self-centered, genius-inventor-billionaire. At his side is personal assistant Pepper Potts (a red haired, freckled Gwyneth Paltrow). The story is somewhat predictable and of course, there's a big showdown between Iron Man and an evil Iron Man in the finale. The special effects are great, on par with that of GHOST RIDER. Stan Lee also has his obligatory cameo.
