A group of professional criminals are hired to pick up and deliver a box which contains a strange lab created creature. The first half hour of this movie is creepy--we don't know what the monster is, exactly, and the suspense is well built. But when the criminals hole up in the apartment of one of their girlfriends things start to slow down and the ranting and raving amongst the characters gets a bit tiresome. The creature itself looks nothing like the artwork on the box--in fact, it bears a strong resemblance to Elmer from Fred Henenlotter's BRAIN DAMAGE. It bears an even stronger resemblance to a smiley face crossed with a salamander. Not very threatening. While I do recommend this video for its quirkiness alone don't be expecting a monster movie. » Search Database for Item, The (2002) Seen it?
