I was pleasantly surprised by this horror movie. First, it's a possession movie, not a vampire movie, which his great, considering every other horror movie is now some angst ridden mopey teenage bloodsucker flick. Secondly, there's not nearly enough possession movies.
The story is about two high school girl friends, Jennifer (Megan Fox) and Needy (Amanda Seyfried). They are unlikely friends but have stuck together since they were little kids. Jennifer wants to see a band at a local bar and Needy reluctantly goes. The place catches on fire and the band leader convinces Jennifer to go with them in their van. Later that night she appears in Needy's kitchen, all covered in blood. And she vomits this black spiky stuff all over the place. After Jennifer feeds on a football jock the next day she feels--and looks--better. Needy eventually learns that her friend is possessed by a demon, which was caused by the band sacrificing her to become famous. They thought she was a virgin but she wasn't (big surprise there), which caused this unexpected thing to happen. When Jennifer sets her sights on Needy's boyfriend, Chip, she knows she has to do something.
I found it interesting that they made Megan Fox look bad throughout most of the movie, with all those close-ups of bad skin. I also didn't expect to like it so much. For some reason it reminded me of LOST BOYS, I guess because it has the same vibe.
