Surprisingly, I actually got into this fairly bloodless movie about two prankster brothers on a road trip that mess with the wrong trucker. The creepy part to me was the CB conversations they had with the faceless killer. The movie moves fast and has some nice twists and turns and is just kinda fun over all. The body count, well, it's pretty much small potatoes, but the film still works. The things you don't see and are left to wonder about are what drive the movie. And of course, by the end, the phantom trucker still stalks the highway somewhere out there. If nothing else, Joy Ride may keep smart-asses from playing on the road and save a few lives along the way. I'm still trying to figure out how to drive a big rig through a cornfield without getting stuck... hahahaha, but anyway I'm not a professional either. I guess when you look at the sub-genre of killer trucker films like Duel, Road Games, and Maximum Overdrive; Joy Ride falls right in line in a good way. One more reason to stay off the damn highways!
