It's a few years after the first movie and Kick Ass has been on hiatus, just trying to get through high school. He's bored, however, and wants to be crime fighting partners with Hit Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz). So she ends up training him to be a more functional superhero. Her guardian, Det. Marcus Williams, finds out that she's still being Hit Girl and makes her promise to stop. So she does--and tries to fit into a high school clique. It doesn't end well. So Dave Lizewski, aka Kick Ass, is on his own.
In those few years other normal people have donned superhero costumes. Kick Ass meets one of them and is introduced the superhero group he belongs to. It's led by Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), who used to be a mob guy and now fights for good. The fledgling superhero group tries to make try making a difference but this gets the attention of Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), who wants revenge on Kick Ass for killing his father. Red Mist changes his name to MotherFucker and hires dangerous criminals to be his super villains. It all culminates in a battle at The MotherFucker's lair. Although this sequel is not nearly as violent as the graphic novel, this is still an extremely entertaining superhero movie, as good as the first film.
