James Ryan is Steve Chase, a martial arts master who is recruited by a mysterious German guy. It turns out, though, that the old German guy was once a Nazi and is obsessed with winning a karate tournement against a Japanese team. Hunt and his karate girlfriend escape (why a woman is training with them is never explained)-but she's captured by an evil henchman and imprisoned in the German's dungeon (he has a castle in the middle of the desert). He tells hunt that he must rejoin the team-but instead of doing this he joins the Japanese team, so he can go back there and rescue her. There are lots of karate matches, many to the death, and Hunt is ultimately pitted against his girlfriend while soldiers aim their guns on them. If they don't fight they'll be shot. A good cheesy martial arts film.
