A derelict piano teacher named Carl kidnaps a young lady named Dawn who is on her way to see her mother. He bounds and gags her and keeps her stashed in a secret room in his house. Carl then sets off to terrorize Dawn's friends who are searching for her to no avail. In the process of all of this, Carl still finds time to hill his own overbearing mother, what a saint. Dawn builds a weird love-hate relationship with Carl, and once she is finally freed, she feels an unsettling urge to go back and be with her tormentor. This dark film falls deep into the psychological thriller genre and stays there for a while. This film is very well directed and should be shown in health classes to show young girls what could happen if they hitch a ride with a weirdo. Track down this one and give it a look, although it probably will make your girl look at you funny for about two weeks, so its not a recommended date film.
