Although technically superior to THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT this feature also lacks any emotional connection to the characters that BLAIR provoked. Sure, the video looks good with crisp images and lots of editing effects that are a dead giveaway of someone going nuts on the AVID for the first time-but after ten minutes YOU'VE HAD ENOUGH. The story concerns two co-hosts of a supernatural Cable Access Show who, with a reputed psychic, go out into the New Jersey Pine Barrens in search of the 'Jersey Devil'. All this information is told in the third person, primarily to interviewing their friends and associates. Only a small portion of the movie is 'POV' shots from the Pine Barrens, which is a shame, since this is the most interesting part of THE LAST BROADCAST. When all is said and done this movie is just kind of 'there'.
