Many people love the movie The Haunting, rightly so. It is one of, maybe the best, haunted house films ever made. The Legend of Hell House is quite possibly just as good, if not better to me. Legend has a little more in the way of FX, but the story is still the main power- plant here peoples. The acting of Roddy Mcdowell didn't hurt either. The ending is amazing. It's funny how people never believe in the haunting of a house in the movies until it slaps them in the face. And they get slapped hard in this one. Mcdowell's character knows what Hell House can do, being the only survivor from the last team of researchers who visited. Still, the team leader and its' other members ain't listenin', thus we have our victims. Legend isn't a bloodbath type film or super fast paced, but it gets the job done. Richard Matheson adapted the screenplay from his own novel, that's the main reason for its' strength of plot. Let's face it, a scientist will never beat the supernatural and this stands as evidence supreme. Now it's time for you to enter Hell House and see why it's legendary in the haunted house film sub-genre.
