Noah Wylie returns as Librarian Flynn Carsen, who is sent on missions to retrieve valuable - and often supernatural - objects. This time it's to find out the location of King Solomon's treasures, which are hidden somewhere in Africa. But this isn't just any mission - this one has direct ties to his own family history. He encounters archeologist
Emily Davenport (Gabrielle Anwar of BODY SNATCHERS, THE MARSH), who becomes a love interest, and they team up on the adventure. Versatile actor Erick Avari (HEROES, PLANET OF THE APES, STARGATE) is the evil General Samir.
My biggest problem with this movie, other than the cheap looking special effects, is that is manages to be boring. The first ten minutes of the movie is him recovering an ancient crystal skull from some thieves in the American West, a skull which not only has magical abilities but is a remnant from the sunken city of Atlantis. Okay. Then it goes on with him returning it to the library and embarking on the King Solomon adventure, an adventure that seems too familiar. Now, if the writers would have stuck with fleshing out the first story, about the Crystal Skull, that would have been a more interesting tale...
Directed by Jonathan Frakes (STAR TREK: TNG), who also has a cameo as a reformed convict.
