Although I liked actor Tom Ellis in the series RUSH, about a rogue doctor, he's a bit too over the top here in this new series, based on the DC Comics incarnation. Lucifer decides to skip out on ruling hell and move to Los Angeles, where he becomes involved with a crime. A pop singer who sold her soul wants to revitalize her career-and it seems he genuinely wants to help her. But she-and he-are gunned down by a lackey. Who did this? Is it a drug deal gone bad or is it her ex-producer who wants t cash in on her death? There's an investigation, we're introduced to a woman detective who used to be an actress, who inevitably becomes his reluctant "partner in good". And for some unexplained reason she's immune to Lucifer's mind controlling abilities. My problem with the show is that's it's over-written and too "cutesy". If you want to see a much better version of Satan just stick with the series SUPERNATURAL...
