Majorettes is a pretty decent, well paced, mid-eighties slasher directed by Bill Hinzman, and written by John Russo. Russ Striener plays in here too, helping complete the Night of the Living Dead connections. There are some pretty brutal killings in this thing, a few nude scenes, and a lot of shoot 'em up action near the end of it all. Someone is punishing the sexy dance team at a local high school and the film is ripe with all the typical suspects. Sure, the murderer is revealed with a lot of running time left, but the sub-plot of the wannabe drug dealer biker gang versus the team quarterback and his old lady makes for an odd little ending. Kinda went Rambo there by credit time, but it was fun while it lasted. Hinzman seemed to have an eye for blood and action here, Majorettes has its moments for sure. I almost wish the gang stuff and shootouts had been left out, but it does make for a strange aside for a slasher movie. Older than possible high school students get wiped out once again, how can you not enjoy this?
