Wow, I fond this 'shocker' on Ebay and boy am I glad, as it's a wonderfully tacky and fun film. Richard Basehart plays an eye surgeon expert guy whose daughter has been blinded in a car accident that was his drunk ass' fault. Guilt ridden of course, the good Dr. begins to experiment on dogs, then people in hopes of doing a successful eye transplant for his once hot as hell daughter. The 1st attempt actually works well for a few days, then fails, so Daddy begins to pick up any decent pair of eyes he can to try and get some goggles that work. The basement begins to fill with eyeless, howling in pain victims screaming for their eyes back. Each successive surgery works less and less and leaves his girl's face scarred more and more until she looks about as bad as the poor assholes locked in the mansion's basement. In the end, both daughter and his nurse buddy assistant can't take it any more and let the now very numerous number of blind victims loose for revenge. You can pretty much guess what happens when they finally lay hands on this quack. Our last shot is of a bunch of blinded lunatics wandering the mansion grounds. This turkey needed more gore; otherwise it's a damn fine rarity in my book. Had a lotta fun watching this thing play out. The victims look so sick after the eyes are removed. This movie would make a great double feature with The Headless Eyes!
