Interesting little zombie opus throwing that age old, tried and true plot of military experimentation gone haywire in your face with zombie blood and guts action. Reminded me of a better version of what Resident Evil the film should have been. This kinda felt like what the cool game translated to movie should have been done. When you try and recreate some damn WW2 Nazi experiments, you're asking for trouble, and these troops get it here in spades. Seems the leader of these commandos father is actually the asshole responsible, way to go dad. Once the soldiers, including a traitor, drop down into the complex housing the walking dead, the feeding begins. The race is on to survive soon after as a bomb is set to blow the whole shit up. The zombies in this thing look damn good, and there's enough (almost) munching to keep you watching. The plot it seems is a little thicker than it looks as more assholes wait near the end to keep anyone from walking away from MapleWoods alive. This film may not have been super original, as we've seen all these plot elements and action before, but it does move along well and looks better than most of the brainless shot-on-video zombie gore flicks we've grown accustom to these days. At least, someone had an eye on what makes a military based zombie flick work. Personally, I would have liked seeing more corpses doing the damage, but you get what ya get here. Interesting ending.
