John (Luke Wilson) is a real Estate agent who is having a very bad day. He's fired from his job and comes home to a stack of unpaid bills--and the pool guy leaving his house, which suggests his wife (Leslie Bibb of MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN) is having an affair. They get in a fight after they startle him--and she takes off with the two fat kids. Then he gets a knock at the door. It's Richie (Samuel Jackson), a black guy in a hat who says that his car stalled out front and he needs help. John pushes the car and is injured--and Richie agrees to take him to the nearby hospital. But they don't go to the hospital. Instead, it's a surreal ride into the nearby town and countryside--and dozens of slain bodies follow their wake. Is Richie a serial killer? And why did he single out John to mess with? Or is this mysterious evil man a figment of John's imagination and he's snapped, killing everyone in his way?
This is basically a crappy version of THE HITCHER, with many awkward moments and lame dialogue. It's sort of amazing that the writer and director managed to make everyone involved look so bad, as it's the worst movie both Wilson and Jackson have starred in. NOT recommended unless you wish to torture yourself.
