Roy (Michael Shannon of MAN OF STEEL) is on the run from the police for kidnapping his son, Alton. Alton has special abilities, which is affected by the sunlight, so Roy has to travel at night as much as he can. They are also accompanied by Roy's friend, Lucas, who will protect Alton with his life. This is because of what he saw when Alton had telepathically communicated with him. We find out that they have a destination, but not exactly what is is until the end. It's basically a chase movie, interspersed with flashbacks. The last fifteen minutes of this film make the movie, so even if you find it all a bit familiar stick with it and you won't be disappointed. One of the best movies of 2016, period. Highly recommended.
