Upon reflecting, I have to say that this movie is a sequence of creepy and gory scenes tied together by a rather boring story. As it's yet another remake of an Asian movie it has all those usual elements-- a vengeful spirit, an evil little girl, et cetera. The biggest problem is that the main character, portrayed by Keifer Sutherland (DARK CITY, 24), is one-note, starting off unstable and staying that way steadily throughout the movie. This idea was much better realized in John Carpenter's PRINCE OF DARKNESS and it pretty much has that same ending. Ultimately, I didn't see anything new with this Hollywood horror movie.
