This is The Asylum's ripoff of CLOVERFIELD. Two sisters are videotaping their trip to Japan and get caught in an earthquake, which turns out not to be an earthquake at all but an attack by a giant monster. Their camera footage (a lot of time of them talking, blah blah blah) is intermixed with actual news footage and effects of the monster's tentacles (that's all we ever see of the monster—tentacles). There's lots of cheap video effects to make it look like the videotapes were damaged but this is more distracting than anything else. Basically, if you've seen CLOVERFIELD and liked that movie there's absolutely no reason to see this turd other than to torture yourself.
MONSTER again confirms that anything produced by THE ASYLUM should be avoided by any fan of the horror or sci-fi genre.
