This is a surprisingly good movie, surprising because I really don't like 'Sandra Bullock movies' in general. Here she's a detective whose psychological problems both interfere and help in her trying to catch two teenagers who have committed a murder.Long ago, when she was twenty-years-old, her abusive husband dumped her body off in the woods after he thought he had killed her. Now, as a policewoman, she identifies more with the victim than the murderer. She also has big problems with relationships with men-as evident by her having sex with her new partner two days after they meet. The day after that she rejects him, playing these mind games. After a while you even forget that this is actress Bullock. The two teenagers involved are both highly intelligent-and from total opposites of the school cliques. One is a spoiled blonde guy who is popular, the other an ostracized genius. They pick a victim at random and dump her body off in the nearby forest-but we don't know which one actually committed the murder until the end of the movie. There is a triple twist there. As serial killer movies go this is a good one.
