A large asteroid, 7 miles wide, is going to hit the Earth. Upon hearing this Marcus King (Kim Coates) gathers his kids, Melissa and Geoff, and flees to an underground bunker with other survivalists. Only Marcus doesn't make it inside in time--and is left out before the doors are locked. Ten years later they run out of food and power--so they have to make an expedition outside. There's desolation--and also mutated people. They are basically zombies with glowing green eyes. They come across humans who have survived--and see some familiar faces, particularly Geoff, who encounters an old flame. But as soon as it becomes night they all transform into the monsters and Geoff gets a finger bitten off. They also meet The Preacher, a human woman in a cowboy hat and trenchcoat who fights the zombies. This Syfy movie is just okay. It would have been far more interesting if it were animal creatures they encountered rather than zombie-like humans.
