A serial killer with a split personality tries to give himself up to the authorities, only to stab his pregnant wife. He's about to kill his three year old daughter before the police shoot him. That night seven premature kids are born in that town and it's suggested that they are aspects of his different personalities reborn. We're introduced to the seen kids sixteen years later and they fill out the usual stereotypes--the jock, the token African-American, the good girl, the bad girl. The main character is "Bug" (Max Thieriot, who looks like a clone of Nick Stahl). He has the weird habit to mimic people's speech in a possessed-like trance. Could he be the reincarnated killer?
The first two thirds of this movie are interesting but it quickly goes down a familiar, predictable path in the final half hour. It felt too much like it was relying on Craven's previous NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and SHOCKER movies.
