Near Death is a low budget horror filmed in the style of a softcore porn. It's look seems similar to any 'Bikini [fill in the blank]' movie on late night Cinemax.College students investigate a famous, now dead, film director's mansion. As they investigate the mansion they uncover a cult of cannibals and some crazy paranormal activity. The story is your basic haunted mansion cliche but with a very confusing and down right strange payoff at the end. It seems as though films these days have to have a twist that throws the film and the viewer for a loop. Unlike this films predecessors, such as The Sixth Sense, Mindhunters, and Identity, the final twist ruins what little of a good film they had here. Not recommended by this reviewer. Avoid at all costs.
