This is an inferior remake of the Kevin Tenney directed original, putting more emphasis on the T & A and less on mood and scares. The main character is a blonde named Maddie (Monica Keena), whose friends are putting on a Halloween party at an old Mansion. In the film's prelude it establishes that the woman who owned it practiced black magic and summoned demons. She had killed herself in order to prevent them from gaining a foothold in the world. These six demons are so evil they were actually kicked out of hell. It takes a while for things to get going as the first forty minutes is all "blah blah blah" between all these unlikable characters.
What really ruins the movie is Edward Furlong as Colin, Maddie's ex-boyfriend and drug dealer. He's far too old for the part of a college kid, is bloated and looks and acts as if he's in the midst of a really really bad hangover. It's simply grating listening to his granny voice. However, the production value and special effects are quite good. There's even an expanded "Lipstick scene" that's even grosser than the original. I was hoping I'd like this movie but it's another disappointment...
